Blogging Becoming Mainstream

Over the past several months I have noticed the increasing number of references to weblogs in the popular press. Blogging is to websites what short wave radio is to traditional radio broadcasts. Quickly and easily anyone with access to the internet can establish a weblog to expound his/her ideas with the world. But if a tree falls in the woods and nobody is there to hear it, does it make a sound? Popular weblogs are read by the multitudes and can even generate revenue via advertising dollars. Less popular weblogs with a readership of one, offer the blogger a chance to develop writing skills and keep an online journal, similar to a scrap-book. Happy blogging.
