2021 D'Evelyn Dash 5K

The D'Evelyn Dash was live this year and in the books at 32:15 (89th/208 participants; 18th/31 males 36-50).  It was a really solid showing for me, given that my dedicated training was only 3-5 miles per week for the past month.

It was the same course as 2019 and the weather conditions were perfect.  I never got boxed in or felt like I was in anyone's way.  I wore my Saucony and calf sleeves.  I did a light warm up of line drills and hamstring stretches.

The first mile was a little hot at 9:38 and I slowed to an 11:16 mile by mile 3.  Given that I was targeting 33 minutes, I was really pleased with the effort.

Ratna volunteered to help with set up and manned the mock trial booth.  We bought some spirit gear and enjoyed watching Diya perform in the parade and concert.  Nisha ran with Anna.

Ratna was fortunate enough to win a hydroflask, polar bottle and a set of cases from Boulder Case Company.  A 1500 ($15 value) and a 5000 ($63 value).  I am not sure what I am going to do with them yet, but they are certainly cool.

I also visited with Southwest Endurance out of Littleton.  Keith is the owner/founder and a really nice guy.  He knew my neighbor, Seth.

Finally we met Corinne who had set up a Juice Plus booth.

Really finally, among the 13 "teams" we had the largest with 7 members.  G-force 2021!
