Swing Vote is a cute movie based on the premise that every vote counts. The plot is based on a presidential election which comes down to one improperly counted vote in Texico, New Mexico. Bud Johnson (Kevin Costner) is a single father who has drifted through his life with little regard for politics. However his daughter Molly is so enamored with the system that she attempts to vote for him when there is a malfunction with the machine.
The laughs start there as the Republican and Democratic parties turn their platforms upside down in an effort to gain favor with Bud. Bud’s life is turned inside out and every offhand comment is capitalized on in order to gain the swing vote.
If you are in the mood for a fun movie, added it to your Netflix rental queue. If you are looking for a political thriller or moving drama, look elsewhere.
