I haven’t been to the movies in a while and my triumphant return to Elvis Cinemas was a showing of 2012 with John Cusack and Amanda Peet. While the story line and acting were subpar, the movie itself was great on the big screen with tremendous special effects. The plot is your standard end of the world as we know it scenario with an interesting twist. One sub-plot is a morality play on the public’s right to know versus the mass chaos that could be caused. The second sub-plot is how to decide who should rebuild the human species.
Overall, I cannot recommend this film as a rental. Even if you are big fans of Cusack and/or Peet you will be disappointed.
