I have recently been sucked into “House of Cards” a Netflix
original series starring Kevin Spacey.
Spacey plays Congress Frank Underwood who was snubbed by the incoming
President on a cabinet appointment and sets out to exact revenge.
I have not followed politics much in my life, so it is hard
for me to judge how true to life the writing is. However, it is very entertaining in a
Machiavellian sort of way. Thirteen
episodes were all released on February 1st, 2013. I started watching last week and watched 3
episodes in the first sitting and another 3 episodes in the next sitting. I am going to try to savor the rest.
In terms of television dramas, it is well cast and has a
very cohesive story line. I am not sure
how well single episodes would stand up on their own.
