4 x 6 Relay

The fitness center at work was hosting an event dubbed the 4 x 6 relay.  It was a 1.5 mile course with teams of 4.  In the interest of time, it was a staggered start rather than a relay with a baton.  The first runners started.  2 minutes later the second runners started, etc.

The course started downhill and then turned uphill before flattening out and then a short uphill at the finish.  I was shooting for a 12:00 time, but was thrilled to finish in 11:14.  However, my Garmin did measure the course at 1.43 miles.

There were some fast finisher including a couple of guys in the 9:30 range and a half dozen in the 10:00 to 10:30 range.

I looked at my heart rate during the event and noticed it spiking over 200 beats per minute.  I am fairly certain that was an anomaly, although I do believe my finish line heart rate of 184.

That sounds like a cool event hosted by your work's fitness center! I wish we had a fitness center period!

Looks like I'm right up the street from you (off of McCaslin). We should get a run in some time in the future!

I have been thinking of going to the Runners Roost group run sometime. Have you been over there?
