BAM Bare Bones #2

I had a chance to do some racing this weekend.  Sunday was the second BAM Bare Bones swim.  These are low key well organized events hosted by the Boulder Aquatic Masters.  They had 0.5 mile, 1 mile, and 2 mile options with categories for wetsuit and non-wetsuit.  The 2 mile was the most popular event with the Boulder Ironman right around the corner.

Of the 44 of us in the 1.0 mile wetsuit group, I was thrilled with a middle of the pack finish in 22nd place in 34:21.  I felt pretty confident in the water.  There was a lot of contact through to the second turn, but then we got spread out pretty well.  Past the third turn and into the fourth turn, I started to have some sighting issues, but that did not slow me down too much.  I really should learn to breath on my left rather than favoring my right side as much as I do.
