Where does the time go?
I have obviously been neglecting my blog.
The week of Chrismas, I got a chest cold and training
stopped. I knew something had been going
around and I was hoping I would be unscathed.
That was not to be. The toughest
part was the lingering cough. I still
carry around cough drops to this day.
The week of New Year’s, we had a great trip to Orlando
taking in Legoland, Disney’s Magic Kingdom, and Epcot. It was nice to make the annual pilgrimage to
central Florida and drop some money into the economy. The big surprise this year is how much the
girls enjoyed the rides. With my 5 year
old at 43 inches and my 7 year old at 48 inches, we were able to enjoy some of
the roller coasters and faster rides that they were not able to enjoy
before. Despite the beautiful weather, I
only enjoyed 1 run while I was at sea level.
I also attended the Florida United Numismatists (F.U.N.) show
in Orlando and found a stunning 1835 dime and a really attractive 1831 dime. The F.U.N. show is one of the premiere events
on the coin circuit. My parents were
able to join me and we had a great time attending the auctions and perusing the
bourse. I also had a chance to meet some
very knowledgeable collectors who I had previously only known from e-mail or
reputation.
Getting back in the swing of things now. The Arvada Triathlon Club kickoff is January
19th. I have slowly been
getting back into the pre-season rhythm.
The one thing I haven’t done in a long time is trained outside. With the milder weather this weekend, it will
be easier to brave the elements.
