I treated with CBD, Advil, Normatec.
- Monday, I did 15 minutes on the Bike Erg for blood flow.
- Tuesday, I did two laps (1.2 miles) walking around the neighborhood.
- Wednesday, 1.2 mile walk on S Platte Trail
- Thursday, 1.5 mile walk on S Platte Trail (ankles good, slight pain behind left knee)
Some of the folks are helping me with my forehand throw. Both Honey (boy) and Dustin gave me some pointers. I have been practicing with Ratna and Nisha.
Practice was similar. This time we ran a lap and then stretched on our own while going through introductions and positions. This time, I simply stated that I was new to frisbee and definitely not a handler.
We did three different drills, but I can only remember two of them. Again the goal was timing and movement. It also started to make sense when to do forehand throws and backhand throws. It helped to watch videos.
Finally we ended with short field 6 on 6 with 1 substitute for both team. Thirteen players plus the coach.
The drills and movement make sense when you are in a game. The most basic offense is a horizontal stack with three handlers and four cutters. The four cutters are wings and poppers, that cut towards or away from the handlers and try to get open. The handlers swing the disc waiting for somebody to get open.
Defense is either man-on-man or zone. In a zone there is a cup (three defenders around the handler). Three defenders in a horizontal stack covering whoever cuts into their zone. One defender is the safety (almost like a middle linebacker or field general organizing the defense).
Without making this any more complicated. I need to work on peppier forehand and backhand throws. I need to work on conditioning. I need to do footwork drills to be able to handle the quick changes of direction on the field.
UPDATE 4/19/2026 - Much better practice today. Enjoyed the drills more. Still need to work on forehand. Much harder to play after hurling in the morning.
