Social Networking

Keeping in touch started with neigbors and people you could see in town. Next came mail service, followed by telephone service and then miraculously e-mail. Today e-mail barely scratches the surface as blogging, facebook and myspace provide greater opportunities to stay in touch with a greater number of people.

The question for me is where is the line between taking advantage of internet tools and compromising my security. Internet anonymity no longer appears to be an issue for the multitudes. Screen names have become the domain of the illicit sphere of the internet. It is not uncommon for me to meet someone, look them up on google, facebook, etc. in order to get to know them and connect more personally.

Maybe it is time for me to expand my own comfort level. Maybe you will see a picture of me at the top of this blog as part of future posts?
