Swimming – 52,750 yards (55,800 last year)
Biking – 267 miles (48 last year)
Running – 146.7 miles (138.1 last year)
Average Weight - 179.5 lbs (185.0 last year)
My training volume is significantly up from this same time
last year. I would argue that my
swimming has been tougher this year as I have been making a significant effort towards
learning to swim butterfly.
My biking has had a tremendous uptick as I have been riding
with one of my neighbors. I expect this
to continue. Also in the absence of
softball, Sundays are now free for a long ride.
I have already completed 3 rides over 25 miles and would like to get up
to a 50 mile long ride on the weekends.
Running is only up a little bit. A lot of this mileage came from two half marathons. The balance of the mileage is mostly lunch
time miles. I have not been out on the
track this year, but would like speed work to contribute 3-5 miles/week. This is in preparation for a goal of a sub 25
minute 5K.
I started the season a little lighter and hopefully that
trend continues. My short term goal is
to get down to 170 pounds and then march down to my ideal weight of 150 pounds
over the next 3 years. I cannot ramp up
my training much more and need to focus on healthier, lower calorie consumption.
