I finally put together my 2013 race calendar. It is amazing how busy a year can get before
it has even started. I have to schedule
around a couple of vacations and my wife’s drill weekends. Fortunately there are a plethora of events on
the Front Range and I had no problem coming up with a few.
Germantown Half Marathon – March 17th- This will
be my season opener, as Ralston Creek weekend is already booked. My sister is training for this as well so it
should be a fun weekend in Memphis.
Denver Century Ride – June 15th – I want to focus
on cycling more this year and this should be a great event held over Father’s
Day Weekend
Big Sky Duathlon – July 20th – I did this event
two years ago and it proved to be a fast flat course
Copper Triangle Ride – August 3rd – This will be
my second bike event of the season and it will include a lot of climbing.
I may also consider the Horsetooth Half Marathon and the
Westside Duathlon once those dates are finalized. I don’t have any triathlons lined up this
year. I will probably do a couple of
Stroke & Stride events on Thursdays during the summer of 2013. I will also try to make it to some Colorado
Masters Running Association events and Rocky Mountain Road Runner events. Those are cheap and always fun.
I need to decide on a swim event and will try to do
Horsetooth or Racing Underground for a 1.2 or 2.4 mile swim. Neither event has announced dates for 2013.
