3W Races produced another terrific race on Saturday. It was a smaller field event, but supported
every bit as well as a 10,000+ person event with sponsors on hand, volunteers
at water stations and a fun awards ceremony.
I originally signed up for the 5K, but the great weather and enthusiasm
made me cruise right past the 5K turn around point.
As a result my pacing was a bit off. My mile splits were 8:59, 9:07, 10:02, 9:54,
10:58, and 10:18. I ended up finishing
in 1:00:47 which just happened to be 4th in my age group. If I would have known how close I was, I
might have looked for the extra gear a little sooner.
Overall it was a fun event.
I won’t be in town for the couple of races, but 3W has some great event
planned including the Westminster Women’s Classic in May and the Let Freedom Run in July.
