Anyone for Tennis

I got the bright idea to enroll the girls in tennis lessons the spring.  The lessons are going surprisingly well and they are having a lot of fun.  The classes are run the Apex Parks & Recreation Department and are held at the Arvada Tennis Center.  So far the coaches have been great.  They are accomplished tennis players and work really well with children.

While I was getting the girls involved, I decided to dust off my racket and show up for drop in tennis which is currently going on Saturday mornings from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.  I signed up as a 3.0 (the lowest ranking they had) and held my own playing men’s doubles and mixed doubles.  My serve was not that great and I misjudged several ball.  However, it was the best $2 I have spent in a long time.

The North Jeffco Tennis Club sponsors drop in tennis and organizes leagues for the area.  Through the Arvada Tennis Center, I can also rent a ball machine and take group or private lessons.  Depending on how the summer unfolds, I would love to start playing tennis again.
