McDonald’s

Saturday was the 1 year anniversary of the rebuilt McDonald’s at 80th and Wadsworth.  We watched this McDonald’s close in June 2012, get razed and rebuilt within 3 months.  They had a bunch of coupons in the local paper and touted the appearance of Ronald McDonald.  This was too much for me to pass up.  We loaded up the car and headed over 15 minutes early in order to park and get settled.

As it turned out, it was pretty thinly attended.  There were about 20 kids there for the magic show and only half stuck around for story time.  My 4 year old was one of the first volunteers selected during the magic show and needless to say, she was thrilled.  As the show wound down, they started the giveaways which included a bicycle, 32 inch television, iPod shuffle, Kindle and free entrees for a year.  We did not win anything big, but my name was drawn for a free Egg McMuffin once a week for a year.

We then headed inside to have lunch.  As our bill came to $11, I decided to use the “mystery coupon” which could be applied to a purchase of $10 or more.  As it turned out, the coupon was redeemed for another free Egg McMuffin for a year.  Fun stuff.
