I had the good fortune of meeting up with my freshman year
roommate from Purdue who has been living in Honolulu since 2001. We got caught up on each others’ lives over
the past 25 years and went for a swim along the beach. I was shocked to see fish swimming around in
the water with us. Compared to the murky
waters of Colorado’s reservoirs, the water was crystal clear. The other plus of swimming in Hawaii is all
of the oxygen at sea level and the buoyancy of salt water.
