Germantown Run Around

I had a chance to visit my parents in Germantown for Thanksgiving.  It was nice to be home and my wife and daughters seemed to enjoy the trip as well.  One of my sisters was able to make it also, so the house felt full and alive.

In addition to Thanksgiving dinner and doing some shopping, my wife and I got to go out twice while my parents enjoyed time alone with the grandkids.  We saw “The Hunger Games:  Catching Fire” which was very entertaining and also enjoyed dinner downtown which was a pleasant change of pace.

Finally I got a couple of runs in.  The first outing was to the Germantown High School track.  There have been several improvements in the past 25 years, but it is still a nostalgic, comfortable place.  The second run was on C.D. Smith road.  I had a friend who lived about 4 miles away and the run was an 8 mile out and back.  I cut it short, but still got in a great 4 mile out and back.
