Last night’s track workout was 12x400. Based on the Hansons Marathon Method, for my
goal pace of 23 minutes for a 5K, I should have been running 1:58/400. As it turned out I was able to hold between
1:44 and 1:48 for all 12. I was pretty
pleased with myself. I also captured my
heart rate during the workout. It is
kind of cool to see every fast 400 followed by 400 recovery and then
regrouping. Besides the first one when
my heart rate spiked into the 190’s, my heart rate was in a reasonable zone
between the 160’s and 180’s.
