Volunteer Activities

This past year I have been extremely involved in my community and some of those activities are coming to a close.  Everything has been a great experience and I am sure that I will experience a void as these activities ramp down.

I have been a member in good standing with the Arvada Triathlon Club since it was founded.  In 2012, I stepped up as Treasurer and then in 2013 I expanded my role to assist our President at the time.  In 2014, I was officially the President and it was amazing to help guide the club over the course of the year.  I made plenty of mistakes, but the club still had plenty of wins.  Stepping down was a tough call, but the right call for the club.  I am looking forward to being a member next year.

I have been a 3W Race Ambassador in 2013 and 2014.  I am stepping down from that role as well.  3W is an amazing organization and the owners and other ambassadors are just awesome people to be around.  Being a race ambassador was a relatively light weight role, but I never felt like I had the time to give the effort that some of my colleagues were.  If I applied for 2015, it would have been a selfish decision rather than for the good of the racing community.  I am still looking forward to racing with them next year.  I am also considering getting more involved with the Colorado Masters Running Association or Rocky Mountain Road Runners.

I am still the Treasurer of our local Home Owners Association.  This has been a trying commitment at times, but I did sign-up for two years and intend to honor that commitment.  I have learned a tremendous amount about covenants and what goes on behind the scenes to maintain a stable, thriving neighborhood.

In the past I had also been active in our local Parent Teacher Organization and I would like to get more involved there again, especially now that both my daughters are enrolled in the same school.

Thanks for all your hard work as a 3W Volunteer and as tri club president. I probably would've never joined ATC if you hadn't showed up at at one of those Saturday group runs!

I think you have left the club in great shape and well-poised for the future!
