L3 Volleyball

My daughter finished L3 Volleyball yesterday.  She seemed to enjoy herself, made some good friends and learned the fundamentals of competitive volleyball.

The team had a rough year going 3-15 overall and 2-7 in league play.  They showed constant improvement and won there last two matches.

I did enjoy the stats that are published by Max Preps:

Attacking: (9th)
Sets Played: 24
Kills: 3
Attacks: 18
Errors: 6

Serving: (9th)
Service Attempts: 18
Service Errors: 10

Blocking: 0 (NA)

Digging: (9th)
Digs: 4
Dig Error: 4

Serve Receiving: (9th)
Receptions: 21
Reception Error: 9

The starting (6) and Libero led all of the statistics.

The L3 team consisted of (8) Freshman and (4) Sophomore athletes.

There were (12) girls on the team with a reasonably confident starting (6) plus a Libero defensive specialist.  Of the (5) girls typically on the bench, most got some playing time when all was lost or the rare occasion when the team was within a few points of a win.  I think that was a good approach as L3 is a development team with some of the girls moving up to JV next season while others continue in L3 or find another sport to try.
