Closing in on Memorial Day

I am coming off of a fairly busy weekend and I am starting to remember the definition of weekend warrior. To review some of the highlights, I played 3 hours of poker on Friday night. Saturday morning I woke up bright and early and got in a 30 mile bike ride followed by attending the Denver Coin Expo with my daughter. She was not terribly impressed, but was remarkably patient. Returning home on Saturday, it was family time with a trip to Costco, the mall, and Wal-Mart. Sunday was equally eventful with losing 2 softball games before 10:00 in the morning. My fielding was off and I only went 1 for 5 batting. The balance of Sunday included yard work and going to see “21” at the discount theater. I felt it was much better than the reviews stated. It had a reasonable cast and dramatically outlined the story. I would like to read the book sometime, but am not in a hurry to do so.

This weekend will be even more eventful as family will be in town for the Memorial Day weekend. We will be hosting a birthday party at the house and that will include the usual responsibilities of picking up and dropping off foodstuffs, chairs, etc. Cleaning the house in preparation and re-cleaning the house afterwards. We have the added bonus of pictures with both sides of the family.

Before it is all over, I will have participated in the Bolder Boulder 10K road race as well. I am looking forward to this, but it adds another layer to the weekend logistics.

Have a great Memorial Day weekend and for you veterans, thank you for your service.
