Training Log

It has been another good week on the training front. I somehow injured my foot and that has been slowing me down running and cycling. Two Advil consistently takes care of the pain, but the swelling is always there.

Beginnertriathlete.com has continued to be my primary training database and we will see how that goes. There are several free data bases available and I am sure that the features and functionality vary considerably. Ideally, I would like to be able to link the database to this weblog.

Swimming was a little more challenging this week as I attempted breathing from the right side rather than the usual left side. This will be an important skill when I make the transition to open water swimming. I have continued to swim primarily at the Meyer’s pool and am one week closer to an annual pass. The water temperature is much cooler and more comfortable than the Apex center.

Running was an unusually strong week, considering my foot which started acting up Thursday morning. The only soft day was Wednesday when we went out to the movies. It is good to take a rest day every week and if I can stay consistent, I will start planning that in.
