All Bets are OFF!

What happened to “Tech-MBA” and why the title change? What does it all mean?

I reflected on the last 200 posts and started to think about the next 200 posts. I still work in the tech industry and I can’t recall a degree being revoked by an institution. Recently, my blog has focused on family activities and hobbies.

Turning bets off comes from craps and signifies a bet that is no longer active. For example place bets are not active during the come out roll. A gambler will turn his bets off for a variety of reasons. Occasionally it is because he is spooked by the dice falling off the table. More often it is because he is done pressing and parlaying his bets and just wants to take his money off the table. The term is relevant to my blog as I want to blend statistics and research with operating based on feel.

The graphics tied to the post are an excerpt from a training load chart combined with a picture of Standley Lake. It is a reminder to be aware of what you are doing and why as well as a reminder to stop and smell the roses.
