At some point, I will need to write a full review. Until then, I can start out by saying that I successfully completed the Half Marathon on May 15th with a time of 2 hours and 38 minutes. I felt like I paced myself pretty well and finished without much left in the tank.
The weather conditions were cool and very good for running. The race support was adequate. The usual gripes about needing more port-o-potties on the course apply. One interesting point is that the race was advertised to limit cup usage and encouraged people to bring hydrapour and other water containers to the event. I found myself grabbing a cup and then pouring it into my Nathan’s hydration system.
Overall it was a great event and one that I would consider doing again. The course was flat and well supported. The early start made for reasonable commuting and parking. I got there way early this year and will know better for last year.
Kudos to Action Sports Images for taking a lot of great pictures. I will certainly be ordering one for my archives.
