I left my Finis Hydro Tracker at home, but found this picture on the Slowtwitch forums. Our house was right across the street from the swim beach and I did this swim 3 times (June 30th, July 3 and July 4th). I also left the wetsuit at home and managed this swim in baggy trunks, swim caps and Aquasphere Kaimans.
The water temperature was around 65 degrees and I was motivated by seeing the OC Tri Club on the course Sunday morning. It was quite a thrill to swim in the ocean. The extra oxygen certainly helped and I was tempted to swim two loops, but decided to stay well within my limitations.
