Breaking Bad

“Breaking Bad” had its season finale after 5 seasons on AMC.  At this point I could live without cable as the rest of my television viewing is on network television.

The writing held up until the very end.  While some dramatic series have a tendency to get overly complicated, Breaking Bad kept the focus on the morality struggle and the motivations of the various characters.

I started watching Breaking Bad after the second season was already in flight.  I caught up the first season pretty quickly.  The drama was just violent and edgy enough to hold my attention.

In contrast to “The Sopranos” and “House,”  “Breaking Bad” tied off all of the loose ends.  A lot of the living characters from past episodes made an appearance.  I felt like the series ran its course as opposed to oddball twists getting thrown in to arbitrarily extend the story line.  That is currently happening to “Sons of Anarchy.”  The story line has completely fallen apart.
