The Last Dive

Today, I need to offer praise for the Dewey Decimal System.  In today’s electronic world, any information is a few mouse clicks away.  If you want to find a book or get a book suggestion, that is pretty easy as well and can be downloaded right to your e-reader.

I found myself in the position to be browsing at the library.  I had to return a few books, there was nothing on hold for me and the girls were busy in the kids section.  I did a couple of searches for scuba related books and requested a couple from different libraries within the Jeffco Public Library system.  Then I got the clever idea to just browse what my library had in 797.23 (underwater swimming).

I stumbled across “The Last Dive” by Bernie Chowdhury and completely sucked in to the story of Rouss family and their introduction to sport diving.  The first 100 pages of the book have given a great background on diving, including history, types of diving and the dangers of diving deep as well as diving in caverns and wrecks.  I am not sure what the rest of the book has in store, but I certainly would only have found the book through dumb luck.
