EHFD5K 2015

With trepidation, I took the start line of our Employee Health & Fitness Day 5K.  My running has been in  a real slump this season and I have only been running about once a week, on rare occasion twice.  Nevertheless, I laced up and got out there.  I started in the middle of the pack and tried to keep a really steady pace.  I started out at a 9:26 mile and slowed to 10:33 and 10:15 in miles 2 and 3.  I finished in 32:48 which I was quite pleased with considering my conditioning.  However it was a very far cry from the 27:15 I posted last year.

As usual it was very well organized with about 50 runners in attendance.  It was a brisk 42 degree overcast afternoon, which would typically make for some pretty fast running.  However decked out in my windbreaker and glove, I was in for a cruise.
